Tour Itinerary
Istanbul, Izmir, Pamukkale.
Day 1 - Istanbul - Transfer to hotel

Arrival at Istanbul Airport, meet Pera representative and be transferred to hotel for dinner and overnight.

 
Day 2 - Istanbul
Start the tour with a visit to the legendary Blue Mosque, decorated with beautiful 17th cent Iznik tiles. Then stroll around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were held in the Roman and Byzantine era. Continue to St.Sophia - a Christian Basilica (church) conceived by Constantine in the 6th century which became a mosque during the Ottoman Empire and now is a museum. See the beautiful mosaics displayed at the museum. Visit the Suleymaniye Mosque, built in 16th cent, dedicated to Suleyman the Magnificent, by the famous architect Sinan. In the afternoon visit the Topkapi Palace, former residence of the Ottoman Sultans. See the Treasury, the Kitchens and Portraits of the Sultans. Lunch en route. Have some free time at the world famous Grand Bazaar ( Kapali Carsi ) of Istanbul. Return to hotel for overnight.
 
Day 3 - Istanbul
Visit the Egyptian Bazaar, used as a spice market since 1665, before boarding the ferry which crosses the Bosphorus, visiting both Europe and Asia. Stop en route to take photos of the natural beauty, and see the 15th cent Rumelihisar fortress,summer palaces and old wooden houses. The cruise terminates at the fishing village of Sariyer,close to the Black Sea. Lunch will be included along the way. Then drive by coach via the Intercontinental Bosphorus brige to Camlica Hill on the Asian side to see the beautiful panoramic view of Istanbul. Visit the Beylerbeyi Palace - the summer residence of Ottoman Sultans with original furniture and magnificent gardens. After the tour transfer to Istanbul Atatürk airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival you will be met by Pera Representative in Izmir and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 4 - Izmir

In the morning visit the St.Polycarp Church in Izmir.Then drive to Pergamon and visit the Acropolis with the world's steepest theatre, Trajan Temple, Athena Altar , Zeus Altar and Agora. Lunch en route. In the afternoon continue to Asclepion , the see the world's earliest medical treatment centre. Return to Izmir for dinner and overnight.

 
Day 5 - Pamukkale
After breakfast visit the glorious city of Ephesus which is also one of the Seven Churches of St John's Revelations (2:1-7), visit the House of Virgin Mary, Basilica of St John from 6th cent. Ephesus is the ancient city where the third Ecumenucal council took place (AD 431). The city was visited by St Paul and his friend Priscilla and Aquila during his missionary journey (Acts 18: 18-20). Lunch en route.In the afternoon see the Ephesus museum and continue to Pamukkale. Arrive at Pamukkale/Hierapolis where St Phillip, one of the twelve apostles came to spread the Gospel and is believed to have lived and been martyred . Check-in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 6 - Izmir
Visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, its magnificent necropolis from Hellenistic and Roman periods and see the Pamukkale terraces.After a visit to Laodicea which is one of seven Churches of St John's Revelations, drive to Philadelphia, which is mentioned as one of the Seven Churches. Continue to Sardis one of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse and a site that was Christianized early by St Paul. The city is mentioned twice in Revelations as one of the Seven Churches of Asia.
The ancient capital of Lydia, Sardis is very famous with its Gymnasium complex and the Synagogue, accepted as the oldest in Asia Minor. Lunch en route.In the afternoon , visit the ancient Thyatira, the remains of the Church which is mentioned in the Book of Revelations (2:19). Continue to Izmir for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 7 - Istanbul
After breakfast depart for a half day tour of Izmir. See the agora in the city centre, the Castle of Alexander the Great and the Archeological museum of Izmir. In the afternoon transfer to Izmir Airport for your flight to Istanbul. After meeting your Pera Representative in Istanbul drive to your hotel for overnight.
 
Day 8 - Istanbul
After breakfast transfer to Airport for your flight home .
